On Writers: Storytime Ep. 1

In which I read other people's stories, live

Recently,

posted a note about reading Substack stories to her husband over drinks. commented that she wished she had someone to do that for her, so I jokingly offered to do it on Substack Live. She encouraged me to do it, and suddenly, it didn’t seem like a joke anymore. I resolved to do it for real, starting with Happy’s own story.

Thank you to

for tuning into the live video. There was one other person, but I never could see who it was. So thanks to that nameless person, too!

Anyway, it was all very last-minute, so if you missed it, check out the recording above. In it, I read:

  1. At 3:00, Jack and the Beanstalk Cafe, Chapter 1: The Beanstalk Cafe by

  2. At 18:55, Why is the Rum Gone? A Tale of Dragons and Pirates by

    1. I couldn’t resist doing dragon voices, so this one got a little off the rails

  3. And at 31:40, two shorties from

    about:

    1. Candy People Invading Earth

    2. A DivorceD Lawyer

If you liked the stories, make sure to subscribe to their authors! If you enjoyed the video, let me know in the comments. I’d love to know if it’s something I should keep doing or not. Thanks!
